
Cadenza Strings cellists Sonya Matoussova and Adel Zakirov are two of Yuli Turovsky's students to be featured in the world premiere of Paul Desenne's Dragoncello for 6 celli, accompanied by the I Musici de Montréal chamber orchestra. The concert will take place at 8PM on Wednesday, September 17th, 2008 at Place des Arts in Montreal.
The Alaya String Quartet's performance of Beethoven's String Quartet in C minor, Op.18 No.4 won first prize ($1000.00 and a spot in the festival's Gala Concert) in the chamber music category yesterday at the Festival de Musique Classique du Bas-Richelieu in Sorel-Tracy, QC. The panel, consisting of Pierre Morin (assistant principal cellist of l'Orchestre symphonique de Québec) and Guy Carmichaël (professor of French horn at the Conservatoire de Musique de Québec), assigned the quartet a score of 96%.

Cadenza Strings violinist Brenna Hardy-Kavanagh will be playing second violin in a performance of Schumann's Piano Quintet in E flat major, Opus 44 at Jeunesses Musicales in Montreal, alongside l'Orchestre de la Francophonie (OFC) concertmaster Amélie Benoit Bastien, OFC conductor and violist Jean-Philippe Tremblay, OFC principal cellist Caroline Milot, and pianist Louise-Andrée Baril.
